In the Spotlight this week is the 8th Annual BEVERLY HILLS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (BHFF), highlighting and promoting auspicious non-studio feature films, documentaries, shorts and screenplays to the entertainment elite in Beverly Hills, California.

BHFF provides filmmakers and screenwriters a prime environment to showcase their talent while mingling with industry dealmakers in the entertainment capital of the world. The five-day event draws more than 15,000 participants and attendees annually, including distribution reps, agents, celebrities, industry tastemakers, and film fans from around the world. Past distinguished guests include the likes of Martin Landau, Gary Oldman, Sally Field, William H. Macy, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Doris Roberts.

The Festival schedule is packed with nightly premieres, poolside celebrity panels, seminars, and VIP after parties. BHFF 2008 will come to a close with the BHFF Black-Tie Awards Gala, held at the legendary Beverly Hills Hotel, where winning filmmakers will be honored for their cinematic achievements.

The Golden Palm Award is the top honor at the Beverly Hills Film Festival, and is granted to the overall best film shown. Audience and Jury awards are also presented to the best film in each category, and a separate Golden Palm is given to the best screenplay. Unlike some other festivals, every film accepted to BHFF is In Competition.
